A bolt on, drill free kit for VW T5 and T6 vans - this kit is for regular vans, (NOT VW California vans, please check out other products for a Cali kit)
This kit comes in two flavours:
KIT A) SCS roof mounting system - this kit includes everything you need to mount 1 or 2 panels directly onto a T5/T6 roof, utilising the existing roof bar holes. These holes are usually capped off with plastic threaded bolts which you can remove and then use for the solar panel mounting. This kit includes 1 x 10 amp LCD Display solar charger regulator, all cables, connectors, fuses, nuts and bolts and a printed step by step installation guide. (produces 5.4 charging Amps in good summer sun with an MPPT charger)
Note: For LWB (Long Wheel Base) vans you must order the "Kit A LWB" Option. Please contact us and we can talk through various options .
KIT B) VW roof preperation rail compatible: The kit comprises of: 1x 100w ultra-thin solar panel mounted on the T5/T6 specific frame (You must have the VW T5/T6 roof rail slots fitted on your van (these are NOT included in our kit)- SWB part numbers are: 7H1860181AQZU & 7H1860182AQZU) , 1 x 10 amp LCD Display solar charger regulator, all cables, connectors, fuses, nuts and bolts and a printed step by step installation guide. (produces 5.4 charging Amps in good summer sun with an MPPT charger)
Kit A
KIT A) This kit comes with our own "SCS solar mounting system". Aluminium bars utilise the existing roof holes to provide horizontal mounting points for the solar panel. The bars come as either a rear mount kit. All the kits use stainless steel fixing bolts, stainless washers, and stainless nuts. The panel is held down tight against the curvature of the roof, sitting on protective foam padding. All the cabling is the same as the Type B kit.
Right is the rear mount option. This occupies the rear two roof bar mounting holes. It is NOT currently compatible with mounting roof bars in the same holes. (note these are production photos so there are some rough edges and the panels do not have their connectors installed).
Kit B
KIT B) We've specifically created a slimline kit that slots into the VW T5/T6 roof rails with cabling that shuts in the tailgate. (or you can run it through an existing grommet in the tailgate - instructions provided)
It combines the best of both worlds - you get a slimline panel that won't take you over the height limit for French toll roads etc, but it doesn't need bonding to your roof. This is the same as the California kit, but with different mounting brackets, longer frame bars, and longer cables.
The panel measures, at it's highest point, 18mm. Beacuse the roof is curved, it acually measure less than that. If you have an awning fitted, this panel actually protrudes less in height.
